Many people fall into the trap of relying on comparison websites to do their superannuation fund research.
Where you are a member of a corporate fund established by your employer, these comparison websites do not allow for the administration fee discounts your employer has negotiated, nor insurance provided to you automatically without your providing health evidence.
Before consolidating your super, you should speak to a licenced financial planning professional, (preferably one who is independent), so they can provide you with objective information and advice which is in your best interest.

The Government has made it easier to locate and consolidate superannuation funds in the past 12 months.
By using the Tax File Number (TFN) as a universal identifier, all superannuation can now be tracked and quickly transferred between superannuation funds.
The best way to consolidate superannuation accounts is to register with the my Gov website (gov.au).
